Services

Assessment

Assessment may vary depending on your child's main area of need and what you would like to get out of the appointment. Typical initial assessment might include:

  • Collecting background/ case history
  • Discussing impact of communication needs with child or family
  • Observation
  • Formal assessment e.g. RAPT, CELF V, etc.

Assessment includes a written report describing the child's communication profile by identifying the child's strengths and needs as well as recommendations for support that may be beneficial.

Intervention/ Therapy

Before offering support, the child will need to have an assessment to identify what type of intervention would be most beneficial. Therapy sessions are tailored to your child's individual needs. If you have a particular therapy approach you are interested in please discuss.

Workshops

I offer a range of workshops and training packages for parents and professionals in small groups or 1:1 on a range of communication and feeding topics.

  • Complex assessment: £130 (2 hours)
  • Report Writing: £70
  • Therapy Sessions: £70 per hour

For Educational Settings

I offer a range of one off and ongoing training and support packages to educational settings such as child-minders, nurseries and schools. To request further information including a full list of package options, please get in touch.

Training

I offer both pre-organised and bespoke training packages. This may be a one off event or a series of session. Possible topics may include:

  • Creating a Communication rich environment
  • SEN Communication (special educational needs)
  • Situational Mutism
  • Symbol use and alternative communication systems
  • Fussy Eaters

Ongoing Support

I can deliver observation and feedback sessions with staff, parent drop-ins or run therapeutic groups directly with children in the setting e.g. Makaton stories, food for fun, Lego Therapy etc. If you would like more regular communication support please get in touch to discuss.

Individual children

Families may employ me directly to support their child which could include working in the nursery or educational setting. The cost of this will be covered by the child's parents and simply require motivation from staff to accommodate me; I will not offer this if the setting already has a Speech Therapist. If you would like me to support a child or hold a small caseload of children in your setting, I will need parental consent before working with the children. EHCP funding may be used to meet a child's communication needs. Please get in touch for more information.
